Thanks for that. I'm in Toronto now (1 pm EST), and the speed is fine, but yes, it was crawling this morning too. I suspect it's some kind of caching issue, not related to the hosting.

The next step is to set up another forum (same software) on the same server to see if it's also experiencing a slowdown. If it is, I will try upgrading to a dedicated server or something.

On your phone, if you haven't already, try turning aeroplane mode on, then off after about 20 seconds. That usually works for me.

Still slow no matter what trick I try, and only very occasionally will it load normally. Most times the wait time is around 20 seconds, but sometimes twice that (as I and others have stated). Im wondering if the platform that someone uses affects the response time. Whether it’s a laptop vs a tablet and/or phone? I’m an Apple user and on both my laptop and tablet the response is long… usually. Can anyone else chime in on this?

After typing this post, I wanted to edit by adding some extra information. It duplicated the post instead of amending it. But before that happened, when I hit submit the first time I got the reply “could not connect with the server” 😣

The second time got me to Preview mode as opposed to a finished post… third time was finally successful, but it created that duplicate post.

ps. airplane mode doesn’t ever work for me after that first attempt… that did work. I apologise for posting (again and again) here about our struggles in using the site. I know it must be as frustrating (or even more so) for you than it is for us as this issue just won’t go away.

Yes, it's frustrating, I've had people it's running fast for them while mine is crawling around the same time and vice versa. The hosting company hasn't been able to provide any helpful answers, except that everything looks ok on their end.
At the same time, up until the old one got erased, never had this problem.

I'm putting up a new site on the same hosting server in a few hours, it's called https://landosugar.com/ (I'll post here when it's running)

It's a copy of https://www.torontobbfs.cc/, but don't post anything there because we will be taking it down once this experiment wraps up.

If one is loading faster than the other, I'll tell them to move it over, or I'm finding a new hosting company.

The site also a little wacky sometimes too in that I’ll be surfing at the usual twenty second pace when out of the blue it becomes perfect. Just yesterday in fact after posting my thread about Treasure, the speed was instantaneous. So damn strange…

Next time it's slow, try this site: http://landosugar.com/ (http without the "s") - it the same site, but loading a bit faster for me).

If anyone else tries it and finds it faster, please let me know.
