Have anyone recent received threatening and extortion related messages. I've been getting a few over the last month or so. The following is a sample

my name is malik gray i sent you this message because you are the right person we are looking for because you keep talking to our girl from the leolist page and you only waste her time asking about the service my girl has wasted money and time and you are responsible of this if you do not pay the fine for the lost time of each of our girls and you refuse to pay take the consequences if you try to block me or lose communication with me your family is the one who will pay for this problem I hope for an answer as soon as possible, and we arrive to an agreement and I leave you and your family in peace ..@&$$&&@&& &&&

Yes, this one has been around for a few years, guy basically says a member of some gang and says you owe him money.

Just ignore, don't reply.

Yes, from the looks of it, they're now sending videos in BC and Alberta.

In most cases reported to the Calgary Police Service, the fraudster uses the name "Edgar Ortega Valdez" and the phone number 562-579-8694.

This has happened to me but in my case I was jumped in a room by a bunch of guys. They took all I had but I walked away. Afterwards even still today I have trouble trusting anyone in any situation w regards to hobbying. It has almost ruined it for me.
They got my phone and send me threats from time to time similar to what's mentioned by others here.
I don't make hobbying dangerous or sketchy. These ppl do. That is the one part I really hate about doing this.
